Cecil Rhodes


Mr. Rhodes graduated from college and spent 15 years in California law enforcement, during which time he worked for a metropolitan district attorney and coordinated the investigation of organized criminal enterprises involving trade-secret theft, political corruption, and complex financial crimes. He has dealt with real estate fraud, as well as with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Mr. Rhodes has been a senior manager at several national mortgage companies, has owned and operated a wholesale mortgage banking concern, and has spent extensive time consulting with the country's premier designer of electronic mortgage origination, processing, and servicing systems.

For the past several years, Mr. Rhodes has provided mortgage fraud audit, investigation, quality assurance consulting, problem loan work-out consulting, and training to investors, mortgage insurance companies, and national and regional lenders.

Various congressional committees and federal and state courts have called on Mr. Rhodes as an expert witness to provide testimony related to the mortgage industry and mortgage fraud. He has been called on to address local, state, and national real estate and mortgage trade groups. He also has authored several articles for mortgage trade journals and industry publications.

Celine Adams

Ms. Adams graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration in international business. She operated a property and casualty insurance agency, at which time she gained a working knowledge of originating and underwriting insurance transactions, and honed her management skills. Ms. Adams manages NIA's Austin, Texas, office.

Ms. Adams offers NIA and its clients a deep understanding of insurance and loan transactions, as well as the energy and experience to train and manage a group of superior auditors.


Scott DeForest

Mr. DeForest graduated from Fort Lewis College magna cum laude with a bachelor of art in business administration. He has extensive experience and a strong interest in analyzing both national capital markets and complex financial transactions. He has co-managed NIA's Austin, Texas, office and co-manages NIA's Durango, Colorado, office.

Mr. DeForest has trained and managed a number of successful and effective NIA auditors, and remains a key facilitator of quality workflow for NIA and its clients.



Eloise Burges

Mrs. Burges graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in secondary education with English and History teaching fields. She has held various positions in schools in Texas, including the founding of a private school in Mason, Texas, with her husband.

Mrs. Burges also has twenty years of experience in property and casualty insurance agencies in Texas. She has served in numerous civic positions in Mason, Texas, including chair of the Planning & Zoning Commission and Mayor Pro-tem and City Commissioner. In 2007, she co-founded the Mason Community Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization that raises funds to return to the community.

Mrs. Burges joined NIA in 2003 and has served as the company’s senior editor and a member of the training group. In 2009, she re-located to Colorado to manage the Colorado Springs office.


Robert M. Wright

Mr. Wright graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor of science in real estate finance. Since then, his primary focus has been residential and commercial loan production, and secondary marketing. He has held a number of regional, district, and national management positions, during which time he was responsible for scaling organizations and their business. He has more than 30 years’ experience in mortgage banking, the last 15 of those years in management positions.

Mr. Wright joined NIA in 2008 to open and manage NIA's office in Tempe, Arizona.


Lyle Johansen

Mr. Johansen graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of journalism and with economics and computer science minors. Before joining NIA, he spent 20 years as the executive vice president and chief lobbyist of The Texas Association of Builders. In this capacity, Mr. Johansen administered a 12,000-member trade association representing Texas homebuilders in business and legislative matters. He was the chief liaison among the builder’s association and the real estate brokerage, title insurance, and mortgage industries.

Mr. Johansen’s experience in the homebuilding and financial industries is part of NIA's deep and broad expertise in the real estate and mortgage fields.
